Scottie Scheffler has been forced to withdraw from the first tournament of the season after undergoing surgery for a bizarre injury.
The men's world No.1 is set to be out of action for up to four weeks after suffering an injury to his palm on Christmas Day.
Scheffler's manager, Blake Smith, confirmed he had suffered the injury while "preparing dinner" and was left will "small fragments of glass in his palm" that required surgery to be removed.

"He has been told that he should be 100 per cent in three to four weeks.
"Unfortunately, he will have to withdraw from The Sentry. His next scheduled tournament is at The American Express."
Scheffler is coming off the back of a stellar PGA Tour season, which saw him lead the entire tour in strokes gained and scoring average as he collected seven titles.
He added his second Masters victory to his long list of achievements and he third consecutive PGA Tour of the Year award – making him the only player alongside Tiger Woods to achieve the feat.

His injury was not the only one revealed by one of the tour's best in recent days as Norway's Viktor Hovland announced he had broken his toe.
The world No.8 captioned the image posted to his Instagram: "Bed frame 1-0 me."
Hovland is still listed to compete in the initial field for the PGA Tour opener in Hawaii.
