Travis Head has raced away in the first session of the Test series opener against Sri Lanka, blasting a half-century off just 35 deliveries.
Moved to the top of the order in Galle, the left-hander hit three boundaries off the first over from Asitha Fernando to put the pressure on immediately.
However, earlier in the vice-captain's knock, he was trapped in front of the stumps by Fernando and the hosts went up with a big appeal.

The umpire turned it down and Sri Lanka opted not to review in what proved to be a costly mistake, as replays showed it would have been overturned.
Travis Head survived an early appeal. 7
Head made the most of his life, bludgeoning 10 fours and one maximum.
"He's a match winner for Australia, so they put him at the top of the order to put them under pressure from the word go," Ricky Ponting said on Seven.
He would eventually fall for 57 off 40 balls.
Usman Khawaja also got off to a strong start with bat in hand as he looks to add to a strong record in the subcontinent.
