Geelong great Cameron Mooney has declared he sees no issues with Fremantle youngster Hayden Young signing the longest deal in V/AFL history.
Young signed an extension that sees him committed to the Dockers until 2033, surpassing a plethora of players who are signed beyond 2030 across the league.
The 23-year-old defender was already signed until 2027, before the six-year extension was announced on Wednesday.
And while some AFL fans see an issue with yet another mega deal, Mooney believes it's a good move, especially for an up-and-coming key cog, compared to an aging player.
"I'm totally OK with this," Mooney said on SEN Radio on Thursday.

"If you're giving a long contract to someone who's 27 or 28 plus, I think they're stupid as well. But for a 23-year-old, I think this is a really good contract, this is a guy I think is going to be a genuine star of our competition."
Young hails from Victoria, but admitted he has "fallen in love" with Perth life since his debut in 2020.

His long contract also locks him down in WA well after the AFL's 19th team, Tasmania, join the league in 2028.
"It stops him from coming home to Melbourne and makes him a Docker for life," Mooney said.
His latest contract extension sees him leapfrog St Kilda's Max King GWS defender Sam Taylor and Bulldog Aaron Naughton, who are all signed until 2032.
