Hobart Hurricanes have held on for a high-scoring victory over the Adelaide Strikers, thanks largely to an incredible outfield catch from Nathan Ellis.
The visitors batted first at Adelaide Oval and got off to a flying start, with overseas import Shai Hope (37 off 22) setting the tone for the Canes.
From there it was Ben McDermott who stole the show, producing a blistering knock to finish unbeaten on 68 from just 34 deliveries.
McDermott hit five sixes on his way to a half-century and was supported by Tim David, who slashed a quick-fire 33 from 14 balls as Hobart finished 5-214.

With plenty of quality players in the Strikers batting line-up, the need to score quick runs in the powerplay was clear and both openers took it upon themselves.
D'Arcy Short launched 41 off 22 before being dismissed, while his partner and captain Matt Short was absolutely flying as he raced to another BBL fifty.
However, just as it looked like Short was leading his side to an unlikely victory, Ellis chimed in with one of the most spectacular catches of the summer.
Running backwards towards deep cover and the ball slowly getting away from him, the Aussie quick stuck his hands above his head and reeled it in on his way to the ground.

"Not sure how he's done that," Michael Hussey said on Fox Cricket.
English star Ollie Pope (39) and Jamie Overton (30*) managed to get the Strikers within striking distance of the mammoth total, but ultimately fell 11 runs short.
The win sees the Hurricanes move into fifth spot on the BBL ladder with two wins from three matches, while the Strikers are in deep trouble with three losses for the season.
