Mo Salah's time at Liverpool could be coming to an end as the star forward admits progress on a new contract is "far away" from completion.
The 32-year-old will be off contract at the end of the season and his sensational form has made him a valued target to obtain.
Salah's contract situation has been a long-running topic in the Liverpool camp, with teammates Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also awaiting confirmation.

Suggestions of contract movement for Salah have been reported by several media outlets, but the Egyptian star continues to dismiss such rumours.
"We are far away from any progress, so we just need to wait and see," he said

Salah is eligible to discuss a pre-contract deal with any European club, but confirmed he would not let off-field conversations derail his campaign with Liverpool.
In 18 Premier League appearances, Salah has record 17 goals and 13 assists, the most of any player in the competition.
But his impressive run with the club is not enough to keep him content – or in the red jersey – in the New Year.
"It's the last six months," Salah said when asked about how much longer his time with the club will be.

"The thing in my head is, 'OK, if it's my last six months, or last year, what do you want to see in the future? Do you want to look back and say I was concerned about the contract or I was stressed? Or do you want me to say, OK, I had an unbelievable season'.
"That's in my head now. All the time now.
"If I feel that kind of distraction, I remind myself, 'You want to look back and you had an unbelievable season'. So that's what I want to do."
Already collecting every club honour before the first match of 2025, with the exception of the Europa League, Salah admitted he hopes to achieve one last success with the team.
Having won the league title in 2020, ending Liverpool's 30-year drought, the team were unable to celebrate their success due to the heavy lockdown restrictions in place at the time.

But with the club heading into game week 20 six points clear of all their rivals, Salah believes a Premier League title will be the defining factor in cementing his legacy.
"In my interviews over the last seven or eight years, I always say [I want to win] the Champions League," Salah said.
"But this is the first time I'm saying I really want to win the Premier League with Liverpool.
"It's probably because we didn't celebrate the one we won in the way we wanted [because of lockdown restrictions].
"I still believe the team needs a trophy. There is still half of the team left like me, Trent, Virgil, Alisson (Becker), Robbo (Andy Robertson).
"It's necessary for us to win another trophy before we all go.
"Also, coming back here too, it's my last year in the club so you want to do something special for the city."
