Melbourne are wasting no time ensuring the talent of their grand finalists remains at the helm after extending back-rower Trent Loiero.
The minor premiership winner agreed to a new deal that will keep him in the purple jumper until the end of the 2028 season.
Featuring in 26 matches this season, Loiero established himself as an integral member of the Storm's forward pack.

His performances also earned him a call up to the Queensland Maroons State of Origin squad, but he was not granted a debut performance.
"I have loved my time at the Storm and I'm excited to re-sign," he said.

"Having been here since the age of 17 and to now extend my contract until 2028 is a special feeling. I can't wait to see what our group can achieve together.
"We made great progress last season, but everyone is working hard to make sure we improve and go one better next year."
Storm director of football Frank Ponissi cited the 23-year-old's "tremendous consistency" as a leading factor in the re-signing.
"Trent enjoyed a fantastic season in 2024," Ponissi said.
"We're incredibly pleased to extend his contract and view him as a key asset to our forward pack in the next few years."
In 75 first-grade appearances, Loiero has averaged 123 run metres, scored six tries and achieved a 95.2 per cent tackle success rate.
