Daniel Dubois hungry for ‘revenge’ against Oleksandr Usyk in bid to rewrite result of controversial ‘robbery’

IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois is hungry to get back in the ring against Oleksandr Usyk, demanding the undisputed champion face him in a rematch.

Sitting ringside at Usyk's thriller bout against Tyson Fury, Dubois wasted no time finding his way into the centre to pose a new challenge to the reigning heavyweight champion.

Calling for a rematch of their first meeting – which ended on controversial terms – Dubois declared he was robbed and ready to prove his power over Usyk in the ring.

The pair's last bout took place in August last year, with Dubois falling short via knockout of the win in the ninth round.

But the win for Usyk has since gone down as one of his most controversial victories to date, having dropped to the floor following a 'clean body shot' from Dubois that was ruled a low blow by referee Luis Pabon.

The incident, as per Dubois' beliefs, should have been ruled a stoppage win in his favour but was not.

Proposing his intentions to set the record straight, Dubois teased a possible rematch with his former rival.

"I want my revenge," he said.

"Well done tonight. God bless, well played, but I want my revenge for the robbery last time.

"Where is Frank [Warren – a fight promoter]? Let's get it, let's go."

His calls were not ignored by Usyk, who immediately agreed to the proposed bout.

"Yeah, no problem. I'm ready," he replied.

"Next fight, no problem…. (but) now I'm going back home for a little bit of rest.

"But I'm ready."

Dubois' next appearance in the ring is set to be a title defence against Joseph Parker, scheduled to take place on February 22.

His current career record remains 22-2 with 21 knockouts.
