The NRL has issued Brisbane Broncos five-eighth Ezra Mam with a breach notice over the league's code of conduct.
Last week, Mam pleaded guilty to driving with a drug in his system, after a two-vehicle crash in Brisbane's inner west on October 18.
The 21-year-old also entered a guilty plea for driving without a licence.
He was slapped with a $850 fine and his license was disqualified for a minimum of six months.
Now, the NRL has hit Mam with a sanction of its own, declaring his actions have "brought the game into disrepute".

"The breach notice alleges that Mam has engaged in conduct which is against the law and has brought the game and his club into disrepute," the league's statement read.
"In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the RLPA, information concerning the NRL's proposed sanction will not be disclosed until the player has had the opportunity to respond to the alleged breach and the matter is finalised."
Mam was involved in a head-on crash while driving his ute in Brisbane's west.
He struck an Uber, injuring a child and a woman.

The 21-year-old failed a roadside drug test before being detained. He was tested again, which also brought up a positive reading.
During his court hearing, Mam's actions were condemned.
"Having made that stupid decision to get behind the wheel of the car, and using illicit substances as well … a cocktail of cocaine and other matters that were found in your blood on this particular occasion," the magistrate said.
"At so many levels you are fortunate to stand where you are today given you were involved in a two-vehicle motor accident.
"You could've been injured or killed or the other parties could've been injured or killed."
