Adam Reynolds undergoes minor neck surgery after frightening contact training session

Brisbane Broncos captain Adam Reynolds will be racing the clock to return for round one after undergoing a minor surgery for a neck injury.

Reynolds is set to miss the next four weeks of pre-season training with the team as he recovers.

The 34-year-old suffered the injury during a contact session before the Christmas break, which left him with pains down his right arm.

The club has taken a cautious approach over the situation but remain confident he will be fit for return in time for round one.

Reynolds will be hopeful that the injury concern does not further impact his premiership pursuit in 2025, given last season he was limited to 13 games.

The injury poses yet another challenge for Michael Maguire ahead of the regular season as the club prepares to start their campaign without Ezra Mam.

Reynolds' absence also reduces the amount of time he will have to develop his partnership with incoming halves partner Ben Hunt.

The skipper is entering his final year of his deal with the Broncos this season.
