Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has hinted at a cost-of-living relief announcement ahead of the federal election while speaking with podcaster Abbie Chatfield.In the 90-minute episode of the It's A Lot podcast, Albanese addressed nuclear power, tax policy and cost-of-living relief, while taking jabs at the Coalition.Albanese joined the long list of politicians who have turned to popular podcasts ahead of elections as a way to connect with voters.

(It's a Lot)Albanese described himself as a "progressive" who believes in shaping change."I am someone who wants to bring people on that journey of change," he said."We've done such an enormous amount in our first term."We have had to deal with global inflation, that's placed enormous pressure on people."While Albanese remained tight-lipped about when the election might be, he took the opportunity to outline his election priorities."Universal Medicare, universal superannuation, and universal childcare. Three big things that are so important for people's quality of life, all of which are effectively opposed and undermined at every opportunity by the Liberal Party," Albanese said."We have worked really hard when it comes to tax policy to make sure that the intervention that we've done has really looked after low- and middle-income earners… and we'll have more to say about cost-of-living measures."

I talk to everyone and engage. Peter Dutton doesn't."His whole history of his engagement in politics has been essentially attacking people who are more vulnerable."It's not tough to attack people who aren't in a position to fight back. That's weak from my perspective."It's not just the prime minister making use of podcasts.Dutton also appeared on Australian diver Sam Fricker's hour-long podcast, Diving Deep.He also appeared on Nine's 60 Minutes on Sunday night, alongside his wife Kirilly, where they addressed the public perception of him.During the US election campaign, Donald Trump's appearances on podcasts by Joe Rogan and Theo Von, among others, were credited with boosting his appeal among a new audience. .
