Australia’s most and least likeable politicians revealed in poll

As the year draws to a close and the 2025 election approaches, new polling on the nation's most and least likeable politicians shows the prime minister losing popularity, while the opposition is gaining ground.The annual Resolve Political Monitor shows Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in some popularity pain.He has slid from last year's rating of minus 3 per cent to minus 17 per cent.

(AP)Crucially, he's fallen behind Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, who has jumped from minus 12 up to a score of zero.Nationals leader David Littleproud came out as the most popular political leader, far ahead of the Greens' Adam Bandt and One Nation's Pauline Hanson, who were both on minus 13."There's a fine line between authenticity and madness," Littleproud said.The poll revealed the least-liked MP is Greens-turned-independent Senator Lidia Thorpe.She made headlines earlier this year for shouting at King Charles during the royal visit to Parliament House.The most popular politician is Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie.
