Steve Smith was left filthy after being dismissed early on day two of Australia's first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
Smith, who made an impressive 141 off 251 balls, including 12 fours and two sixes, was given out LBW in the 100th over, early during the first session.
The Australian batter played forward to the ball that went straight on, catching him on the back leg, plumb in front.

While the umpire originally didn't budge, leaving Smith breathing a sigh of relief, Sri Lanka did not let up on their appeal, with bowler Jeffrey Vandersay confident the decision would go the host nation's way.
They quickly used a review on the decision, which showed that the ball was in fact, hitting the wickets.

Smith was unhappy after the umpire reversed his decision, walking off shaking his head as he likely considered what could've been a massive score.
Before his dismissal, Smith was cruising alongside opener Usman Khawaja, as the pair went on to record the second highest third-wicket partnership for Australia in Tests played in Sri Lanka.
Their 195 fell just short of Adam Gilchrist and Damien Martyn's 200 in 2004, and defeated Marnus Labuschagne and Smith's 2022 partnership of 134, back in 2022.
