Novak Djokovic booed and jeered by Rod Laver Arena crowd after quitting semi-final against Alexander Zverev

Novak Djokovic has retired injured from his Australian Open semi final, after just one set.

It has handed Alexander Zverev a default win and a spot in the men's final, taking the one and only set in a tiebreaker, 7-5.

Djokovic, who is a 10-time Australian Open grand slam winner, has been dealing with injury throughout the tournament, playing the first set with a heavy strapped left thigh.

Djokovic was jeered off Rod Laver Arena, with Zverev jumping to the 37-year-old's defence immediately afterwards in his on-court interview.
