Mitchell Moses has become the highest-paid player in the NRL, having signed a five-year, $1.3m-a-season deal to stay at the Parramatta Eels for the rest of his career.

The deal will keep the 30-year-old in Blue and Gold until the end of 2029, and comes amid huge uncertainty surrounding the future of halves partner Dylan Brown.

Eels football boss Mark O'Neill said Moses, who will be 35 at the end of the deal, was committing the rest of his career to the club.

"Mitch has been in consistently good form for many years now but none better than 2024," he said in a statement.

"The way he performed in Origin last year was outstanding and proved that he belongs in that arena.

"Being recently appointed captain continues the evolution of his development and is a very proud moment for him, his family and our club.

"Having a player of Mitch's calibre commit the rest of his career to the Eels is fantastic news for his teammates, our partners, members and the entire Eels community."

Moses famously moved to the Eels mid-way through the 2017 season from the Tigers, and has had a mortgage on the Eels No.7 jersey since.

Moses was appointed captain for this season following the departure of Clint Gutherson to the Dragons.

In 158 appearances in Blue and Gold, he's scored 46 tries and kicked at just under 77 per cent.
