Big-hitting Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has announced his retirement from one-day international cricket, effective immediately, just over a week out from the Champions Trophy.
Stoinis was recently named in Australia's squad for the 50-over tournament, taking place in Pakistan and the UAE between February 19 and March 9, but called time on his ODI career on Thursday.
The 35-year-old will continue to be available for selection for T20 internationals.
After 71 ODIs, he's retired from the 50-over format with 1495 runs at an average of 26.69 and a top score of 146 not out.
He also took 48 wickets at 43.12, including career-best figures of 3-16.
Stoinis was named male ODI player of the year at the 2019 Australian Cricket Awards, and was a member of the Australian squad that won the 50-over World Cup in India, although he didn't feature in the final.
Stoinis is perhaps best known for his destructive batting and laidback personality.

"Playing ODI cricket for Australia has been an incredible journey, and I'm grateful for every moment I've had in the green and gold," Stoinis said in a Cricket Australia statement.
"Representing my country at the highest level is something I'll always cherish.
"This wasn't an easy decision, but I believe it's the right time for me to step away from ODIs and fully focus on the next chapter of my career."
Stoinis gave a nod to his "fantastic relationship" with Australian head coach Andrew McDonald and said he "hugely appreciated his support".
"I'll be cheering the boys on in Pakistan [and the UAE]," Stoinis added.
